First up, Matt Rhule is coming in as a first-year head coach and having a young quarterback to grow with and groom would be a nice step for the future of the franchise.

Even if Newton does come back for another season, it is very unlikely that he will be around for too much longer after that. Jordan Love, on the other hand, would be the team’s long-term future at quarterback.

Love has an excellent work ethic and he is extremely open to being coached. That would be a great fit with a young head coach like Rhule. The offense would fit Love and it looks like a match made in heaven from the outside looking in.
