3 reasons Melvin Gordon should sign with the Houston Texans

Melvin Gordon is set to hit the open NFL free agency market and there are quite a few teams who will be interested in his services. While there have been rumblings that Gordon would like to stick with the Los Angeles Chargers if possible, there is one team that would make more sense. That team would be the Houston Texans.

Houston is coming off of a heartbreaking end to the 2019 season. In the Divisional Round matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs, the Texans got off to a huge 24-0 start in the first half. Unfortunately, Patrick Mahomes led the Chiefs back to a 51-31 victory.

That kind of a collapse is mentally exhausting for a franchise. However, they can come back and make some moves in free agency that will take them over the top.

Last season in 12 games following his contract holdout, Gordon carried the football 162 times for 612 yards and eight touchdowns. He also caught 42 passes for 296 yards and a touchdown.

All of that being said, let’s dive in and take a look at three reasons Gordon should sign with the Texans this offseason.
