3 reasons Packers QB Aaron Rodgers will be an MVP candidate in 2020

Aaron Rodgers doesn’t need a hype man. He barely needs an introduction. His highlight reel, his stat sheets, his resume, they all speak for themselves– telling the tale of one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history.

But, for as historically great as Rodgers’ career has been, his last few seasons in the league have shown something of a downgrade. He is just coming off the heels of the second-best regular-season record of his career, but looking at his individual performance, Rodgers didn’t look anywhere near the All-Pro we saw in 2014 or the MVP we saw in 2011.

Rodgers’ play has shown regression over the last few seasons, but regression from being the best quarterback in the league to simply one of the best quarterbacks in the league. He’s been far from peak Rodgers, but the Packers legend has still been playing high-quality football, and there might be reason to believe he could get back to that MVP form for 2020.

From a roster-building perspective, the Packers were far from kind to their franchise quarterback. But thanks to a major offseason addition, along with two major pieces in the Packers offseason plan, there should be a sense of hope in Green Bay that their quarterback could once again look like the Rodgers of old.

With that being said, here are three big reasons that Aaron Rodgers might be set for the third MVP season of his career.
