Avoids a Potential Trade Request
There may be no intention from the New York Jets to trade Jamal Adams at this current moment. That’s because there isn’t any reason to do that, at least not yet. He hasn’t stated he won’t show up for mandatory team activities until he gets what he wants, or anything of that nature.
Just because none of that hasn’t happened yet doesn’t mean it should be ruled out as a possibility down the road. Adams has not hesitated to vocalize his concerns on social media in the past and there would be nothing from stopping from doing the same before the 2020 season.
Keeping star players happy is important given their importance to the team and the respect they command in the locker room. Having potential distractions from one of the team’s top players right before the regular season is set to begin isn’t a great way to begin a season.
