3 reasons the Panthers should consider running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire at No. 38 in NFL Draft

Relying on the running game will be key for Carolina in 2020

Whoever starts at quarterback for the Panthers, whether it’s Teddy Bridgewater or former XFL standout P.J. Walker, Matt Rhule will surely look to his running game first and foremost.

Again, relying solely on McCaffrey as the feature back is just not smart if they want to prolong his career. Edwards-Helaire would be a great complement to McCaffrey, not only because he has more of a bruising running style, but he can do a lot of what McCaffrey does out of the backfield in the passing game.

Last season, Edwards-Helaire caught 55 balls for 453 yards and a touchdown. The Panthers offense wouldn’t miss a step with Edwards-Helaire on the field.

If this LSU product falls to the second, which he most likely will, he should be on the Panthers radar at No. 38.
