2. The Patriots Are Very Familiar With Him
Before being traded to the Colts, Jacoby Brissett was a member of the New England Patriots. He may not have seen much playing time with the Patriots, but he still learned Josh McDaniels and Bell Belichick’s system.
Back in 2016, Brissett actually ended up playing in three games with the Patriots. He completed 61.8 percent of his passes for 400 yards, no touchdowns, and no interceptions. Brissett also racked up 83 yards and a touchdown on the ground.
Knowing the system would allow Brissett to hit the ground running in New England. With an offseason expected to be shortened quite a bit by the coronavirus, the familiarity both sides have with each other would make a big difference.
