3 reasons the Raiders should stay away from Jameis Winston

Jameis Winston is set to hit the open free agency market this offseason and it appears very possible that he will end up leaving the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Among the teams most linked to him are the Las Vegas Raiders. Jon Gruden loves Winston and it seems like they could pursue him.

NFL insider Peter King talked about the Raiders potentially having interest in Winston recently. Here is what he had to say about the potential pairing.

The Raiders could be aggressive, and I would not be surprised, if they don’t sign Brady, to see them in the Winston market if he’s free.

Last season with the Buccaneers, Winston ended up completing 60.7 percent of his pass attempts for 5,109 yards and 33 touchdowns. Unfortunately, he also threw 30 interceptions on the year.

Las Vegas would be an intriguing landing spot for Winston, but there are quite a few reasons the move would not make sense. As much as Gruden may love the talent that Winston possesses, the franchise should not give in and sign him.

All of that being said, let’s take a look at three reasons the Raiders should stay away from Winston this offseason in free agency.
