1. Many Options To Replace Carr

The upcoming draft contains a surplus of quarterback talent in the first two rounds, and with the Raiders holding two first-round picks, they have the ammunition it may require to trade up if they choose to explore that option.

Gruden is someone who has an obsession with the quarterback position, but he still hasn’t pulled the trigger on selecting a quarterback in either of his first two draft classes since returning. Now entering year three, where the offensive production still lacks in certain areas, you have to wonder if Gruden has what it takes to remain faithful to Carr when there are so many intriguing rookies in this year’s draft class.

Aside from the draft, the free agent market regarding the quarterback position has an abundance of options. Most notably, Tom Brady will be the most sought after free agent available, and he fits the exact script that Gruden loves. He’s a veteran, a winner, and ultimately Brady is a competitor.
