3 Reasons The Saints Should Consider A Reunion With Dez Bryant

Drew Brees Swan Song

If this is indeed the last season for Drew Brees, then why not give him every available weapon he needs? Michael Thomas is one of the best in the NFL, however, the Saints are still thin when it comes to that position. Adding a veteran such as Dez Bryant will give Brees a tough middle-of-the-field receiver who can move the chains.

With Thomas on the opposite side and Kamara out the backfield, the Saints will be tough to defend. Even with his time off, how many people really believe that he no longer remembers how to catch the ball? During his time with the Dallas Cowboys, Bryant caught 531 passes for 7459 yards and 73 touchdowns. Bryant also averaged 14.0 yards per catch and that was with Tony Romo at the helm.

Last season, the Saints ranked 7th in passing yards and that was with Brees missing five games due to injury. In his final season in 2017, Bryant was clutch on first downs with 35 percent of his catches moving the chains. This is exactly what Brees needs.
