Baker Mayfield and the Cleveland Browns are entering the 2020 NFL season with big-time goals of making the playoffs and then making a run in the playoffs. After receiving Super Bowl hype last season, the Browns missed the playoffs once again and disappointed their fan base in a big way.
Due to the disappointing finish to last season, the Browns made some big changes. To start, they fired head coach Freddie Kitchens after just one year. They replaced him with former Minnesota Vikings’ offensive coordinator Kevin Stefanski.
In addition to hiring Stefanski, the Browns dipped into free agency to make a big move on the offensive side of the football. They handed a big-time contract to tight end Austin Hooper, who they feel will round out their offense perfectly.
With all of that being said, the Browns are only going to go as far as Mayfield can take them. Last season, he ended up completing 59.4 percent of his pass attempts for 3,827 yards, 22 touchdowns, and 21 interceptions. Those numbers were disappointing, to say the least.
Looking ahead to this season, let’s take a look at three numbers the Browns should be expecting from Baker Mayfield in his third NFL season.
