3 steps to a perfect offseason for the Atlanta Falcons

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

1. Draft A.J. Epenesa or K’Lavon Chaisson in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft

With the Falcons choosing to move on from Beasley, they’ll need to find his replacement this offseason. Considering that they don’t have much money to exhaust, Atlanta could very well address the void left by Beasley in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Ahead of April’s draft, it’s important to note that the Falcons own the No. 16 pick in the first round. With Atlanta’s biggest need being an edge rusher, it’s likely that they’ll target one with the 16th overall selection.

While the Falcons won’t be able to obtain Chase Young, they’ll still have other talented prospects to choose from. Among them, either A.J. Epenesa or K’Lavon Chaisson would be remarkable choices for the Falcons.

Epenesa tallied 11.5 sacks, 14 tackles for loss, and four forced fumbles in his final season at Iowa. On the other hand, Chaisson produced 6.5 sacks, 13.5 tackles for loss, and a forced fumble for LSU in 2019. Regardless of who Atlanta winds up with, they would be getting a potential star for years to come.
