3. Draft Kenneth Murray Or Acquire An Athletic Linebacker

The top priority for the Packers in the 2020 NFL Draft should be finding a way to land Oklahoma linebacker Kenneth Murray. A glaring need in the NFC Championship Game against the San Francisco 49ers was the lack of athleticism at the inside linebacker position.

Blake Martinez is set to hit the free agency market this offseason and the Packers should let him walk. He is a sure tackler, but his inability to play sideline to sideline hurt the team in a big way. Green Bay has to bring in more athleticism on the defensive side of the football.

Murray would be a perfect fit, but even if they don’t get him they have to bring in an athletic linebacker. Whether they look for one in free agency, draft Murray, or go with another option in the draft, this is a must. Green Bay’s defense was much improved in 2019, but they aren’t where they need to be quite yet.
