3. Re-sign Hunter Henry

Aside from Rivers and Gordon, Hunter Henry is a key contributor for Los Angeles that is going to be an impending free agent. Despite playing a non-essential position, it would be wise for the Chargers to re-sign Henry.

Four years ago, the Chargers drafted Henry with the 35th overall pick when the team was still located in San Diego. Since then, he’s shaped into a reliable option in the passing attack.

The only worrisome part of re-signing Henry is that injuries have been a glaring issue in his career. The Arkansas product has missed 23 games in his career—including the entire 2018 season.

This season, Henry was able to haul in a career-high 55 receptions for 652 yards and five touchdowns. Given the current tight-end market, Henry would likely garner anywhere from $8-10 million a year in free agency.

Luckily for the Chargers, they have enough money to keep Henry on the roster if they want to. Seeing that the Chargers are going to have a new quarterback next season, it would be worthwhile to retain Henry in the offense.
