With the 2021 NFL season entering the playoffs, most teams around the league are already beginning to focus on the offseason. There will be quite a few great players available in free agency that teams will be fighting to get. One of those players is Chicago Bears star wide receiver Allen Robinson II.

Robinson had an offseason in 2021, but has been one of the league’s most underrated superstars at wide receiver for the past few years. Anyone who makes the move to sign him this offseason will be very happy that they did.

During the 2021 season with the Bears, Robinson ended up catching 38 passes for 410 yards and a touchdown. Last season, he racked up 102 receptions for 1,250 yards and six touchdowns. No one should shy away from signing him due to his numbers from this year.

All of that being said, let’s dive in and take a look at three teams who should already be planning a pursuit of Allen Robinson this offseason.

3. New England Patriots

Right off the bat, the Patriots make a ton of sense as a team that could pursue a true star No. 1 wideout this offseason. Mac Jones is looking like the heir apparent to Tom Brady and the New England offense has been dangerous. They have been this dangerous without a clear-cut top target for the rookie quarterback.

Robinson would be able to come in right away and give Jones the kind of weapon that he needs. He is not a huge deep threat, but having a possession wideout that can make catches when targeted on a consistent basis would be a big addition.

New England is looking like they will be back to being a top-notch contender in the AFC. Bill Belichick likes adding talent and it wouldn’t get much better than Allen Robinson this offseason.

2. New Orleans Saints

Next up, the Saints are a team that could be in the market for a top wide receiver this offseason. That will all depend on what ends up happening with current star Michael Thomas.

At this point in time, things between Thomas and the Saints are rocky, to say the least. The two sides have not seemed very close and a split seems very likely. If that does end up being the case, Allen Robinson would be a perfect replacement target for New Orleans.

Sean Payton and company also have to figure out their direction at the quarterback position. Taysom Hill and Ian Book are both on the roster, but neither looks like a win-now quarterback. New Orleans could look to make a big trade for someone like Russell Wilson.

Whoever the starting quarterback ends up being, having a target like Robinson would be a nice help.

1. Indianapolis Colts

Following the Colts’ brutal Week 18 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, changes are needed in Indianapolis. One of the glaring weaknesses of the team this season was their lack of a top weapon at wide receiver. T.Y. Hilton’s injuries and age have caught up to him and Michael Pittman Jr. is a great No. 2 option.

Carson Wentz struggled at times this season, but the Colts have arguably the best running back in the NFL in Jonathan Taylor. Adding a weapon like Allen Robinson to the offense would round things out perfectly.

The Colts are without a doubt talented enough to compete in the AFC. Even with the huge collapse they just had, Chris Ballard and company need to put together a big offseason. Signing Robinson would be the best possible move the Colts could make to take their offense to the next level.
