3 teams who should consider trading down in the NFL Draft

Arizona Cardinals

The Cardinals no longer need to add a high-level receiving threat after acquiring DeAndre Hopkins from the Houston Texans earlier in the offseason, enabling them to focus on other areas. This also makes it more logical for them to trade down in the draft order.

It appears quite likely for the Cardinals to try adding a talented offensive line prospect in the first round. Deciding to trade down from the No. 8 selection to a team trying to land an elite receiver would make the most sense. Arizona would add more draft capital while still bolstering their line.

In order to acquire Hopkins, the Cardinals had to move off a 2020 second-round selection. Trading down in the first round would potentially help Arizona to replenish their draft picks in addition to adding one of the NFL’s absolute top wide receivers.
