It seems as if Cam Newton isn’t going to go out and sign with a team that doesn’t have a starting quarterback job to offer immediately. As of right now, there may not be any options unless an injury was to take place opening a temporary opportunity.

That applies to the New England Patriots, but it really shouldn’t be the case. There has been an abundance of tape showing Brian Hoyer as being nowhere near a starting caliber quarterback and Jarrett Stidham is completely unproven. Why not at least give Newton a chance?

It would be very strange for the Patriots to not look to have a more dynamic quarterback option to maximize their ability to compete next season. New England has a high-level defense and still has the NFL Draft at their disposal to add more firepower to its offense.

Replacing Tom Brady to undertake regardless of the circumstances. Adding a player like Newton into the mix may not match the typical style of quarterback play that the Patriots are accustomed to having, but at least he’s proven himself and has had time to get healthy.
