2. Be More Consistent
Rookie quarterbacks always have a lot of ups and downs, and Murray was no different in 2019.
Murray started his career with back-to-back 300-yard passing games, on his way to five such games on the season. He also had nine games with multiple passing touchdowns, with four games where he hit both marks.
But Murray also had six games with below 200 yards through the air, with multiple touchdown passes in just two of those.
Widening the statistical sample a little more, Murray had seven games with a passer rating over 90.0 last year and seven games with a passer rating below 80.0. Overall, his percentage of on-target throws (73.5 percent, via Pro Football Reference) was barely better than Josh Allen’s (73.2 percent).
Experience is the key factor for Murray all the way around, and with that should come better consistency.
