3 way-too-early bold predictions for Blake Martinez with the Giants

Tim Fuller-USA TODAY Sports

1. New York Will See Martinez Rack Up Six Or More Sacks

Let’s not mess this one up by making anyone think that Blake Martinez is an elite pass rusher. He isn’t an elite pass rusher, but he did have three sacks for the Packers in 2019. Just like his tackle numbers, his sack numbers will rise in 2020.

New York needs to get more pressure on opposing quarterbacks. Martinez will be blitzing from the middle a lot more than he did with Mike Pettine’s defense.

When everything is said and done, Martinez will end up with at least six sacks in 2020. That production is going to help the Giants’ defense in a big way. Martinez will start showing more of his all-around game, especially with a hard offseason of work and his drive to be great.
