Denzel Mims
During the week of the NFL Combine, there weren’t many players that improved their stock more than Denzel Mims. The senior wide receiver out of Baylor ran a 4.38 40-yard dash and had a 38.5-inch vertical jump.
When watching Mims at Baylor, it was apparent that he suffered from inconsistent quarterback play. However, having inaccurate passes thrown to him more often than not, helped him improve his catch radius and his ability to make contested catches down the field.
Despite having mediocre quarterback play, Mims still corraled 66 receptions for 1,020 yards and 12 touchdowns in his final collegiate season. At 6-foot-3, nearly 210 pounds, Mims is able to use his size to his advantage, helping him fend off defenders on 50/50 balls.
While Jackson is a vertical threat in Philadelphia’s offense, Mims would give them another deep threat, but he is capable of making more tough catches in traffic. Regardless of whether they take Jefferson or Mims, the Eagles could be getting a much-needed boost at wide receiver in this year’s draft.
