1. Atlanta Begins Looking At Their Future At Quarterback
Let’s make this point very clear, we are not predicting that the Falcons will be trading or moving on from Matt Ryan. He will absolutely be the starting quarterback in Atlanta for the 2020 season unless something crazy and unexpected happens.
While that may be the case, the Falcons have to start looking ahead to the future. Ryan got banged up in 2019 and ended up completing 66.2 percent of his passes for 4,466 yards, 26 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions in 15 games. The numbers don’t look bad, but Ryan is 34 years old and has shown signs of slowing down a bit.
The Falcons are going to look into quarterback options this offseason. Whether they check in on a free agent like Marcus Mariota or a prospect in the 2020 NFL Draft, Atlanta is going to begin planning for life after Ryan.
