4. Jamal Adams Signs A Massive Contract Extension

This will come as a sigh of relief for New York fans when it finally gets done. Jamal Adams is one of the top safeties in the game and the Jets came awfully close to moving him at the trade deadline in 2019. He was being shopped in trade talks and the Dallas Cowboys were nearly able to get him.

Instead of trading him, the Jets are going to lock him up and keep him long-term. Adams is going to set the bar for safety pay raises.

After racking up 75 total tackles, 6.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, one interception, one defensive touchdown, and seven defended passes in 2019, Adams deserves this extension. New York simply cannot afford to lose him. The two sides have mutual interest in getting a new deal done and it will get done early in the offseason.
