Tennessee will release Dion Lewis, Cameron Wake
Less than a month away from free agency, the Titans are tasked with a few of their marquee players hitting the open market. In light of that, Tennessee is going to have to make a couple of roster moves in an attempt to create more cap space.
As of right now, the Titans have $47.8 million in cap space available, according to Spotrac. With a few high-priced players needing contracts, some players on the roster are going to see the end of their tenure in Tennessee.
Of the players that the Titans could release, Dion Lewis and Cameron Wake are two logical choices. While the team wants to keep Henry in the backfield, it may be time to part ways with Lewis.
By releasing Lewis, Tennessee would create $4 million in cap savings. On the other hand, ridding of Wake after one season with the franchise would net the Titans $5.5 million in cap savings.
Without a doubt, there’s the chance that either both of them return or one of them return next season. However, neither of them appear to be part of the Titans’ future in any capacity.
