Carolina will have at least two takeaways

Much of Murray’s problem against Detroit was his three interceptions. On the season, Murray has four touchdown passes, but five interceptions.

The Panthers have six takeaways on defense, and seeing as the Cardinals found a way to lose to the struggling Lions, there is a blueprint here for the Panthers to follow.

As mentioned, thanks to his running ability, Murray doesn’t need to force the ball into closed windows. But his performance against Detroit shows the 23 year-old still has to learn it’s better to throw the ball away and live to see another down, rather than forcing a throw and risking an interception.

If Murray protects the ball, Arizona could be tough to beat, as evidenced by their 2-0 start, including a win at San Francisco. But look for the Panthers to put pressure on Murray and try to force him into making ill-advised passes.
