2. Will He Find A Clear-Cut Starting Job?

For the last 14 seasons, Philip Rivers has been the unquestioned starting quarterback for the Chargers, with no competition and nothing significant done to find his successor in recent years.

With a bunch of quarterbacks set to be available this offseason, via free agency or possibly trade, there will be multiple teams with a void to fill and a locked in starting job to offer. The question will be if said teams will see Rivers as someone who is that certified starter. He may very well be seen more as potential competition for an incumbent with question marks, or a bridge to a drafted rookie with the idea that the rookie will have a chance to step in at some point during next season.

This may come down to what Rivers’ expectations are, realistic or otherwise.
