4 defensive tackles listed as targets for the Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys headed into the offseason with a few main storylines hanging over themselves. Between needing to retain Dak Prescott and Amari Cooper along with Byron Jones hitting free agency, there wasn’t much focus left over.

With the franchise-tag placed on Prescott and Cooper signing a long-term extension, the Cowboys are now able to shift their focus elsewhere. One of the areas they still need to address is the defensive tackle position, especially following the departure of Maliek Collins.

It’s worth noting, the Cowboys did already sign Gerald McCoy at the defensive tackle spot. He wasn’t an every-down player with the Carolina Panthers last season and that could prompt Dallas to look into bolstering their defensive tackle rotation as a result.

Given that the Cowboys are currently being mentioned in rumors linking them to veteran defensive tackles, it seems that’s the avenue they will go down. Having multiple options to put out on the field makes plenty of sense given injuries can occur throughout a now 17-game season.

With that being said, there are four defensive tackles the Cowboys are reportedly targeting in free agency.
