Kansas City Chiefs
After winning the Super Bowl, the Kansas City Chiefs will look to defend its title in 2020. Finding every possible way to maximize the talent on the team’s roster is crucial and if there is one spot to reinforce at this time, it would certainly cornerback.
There is uncertainty for the Chiefs surrounding the cornerback position after the arrest of Bashaud Breeland earlier in the offseason. He is already facing an unrelated four-game suspension and it still remains to be seen if he will receive punishment from the league office for the other matter.
From a financial perspective, it would be difficult for the Chiefs to be able to make it work if Aqib Talib wanted significant compensation. Kansas City would need to have the allure of playing for a Super Bowl contender help considering they have just under $3.6 million in salary-cap space.
It will be crucial for the Chiefs to add veteran contributors to patch up roster holes given the cost to keep their main talents. That will only amplify when Kansas City gives a historic contract extension to franchise-quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
