4 major questions for the Dallas Cowboys following Week 1 loss to Rams

Where’s the weak point?

You cant control injuries. That’s a given. They happen all the time. The play calling was discussed but again after one week there’s probably no reason to panic. The special teams unit showed glimpses of hope for 2020 but also missed a field goal. So where’s the biggest weak points after one game played in the 2020 season. One word. Durability.

The Cowboys were gassed in Week 1. There wasn’t any fresh legs. At times they didn’t even have a chance to substitute players in and out. The Cowboys’ defensive line was impressive when they had time to rush Goff in Week 1 but those chances were limited.

The Rams used a very high tempo offense often and had the Cowboys defense reeling. The secondary didn’t play a bad game but tackles were missed. Fundamental football is something the team struggled with in the Jason Garrett era.

Let’s not get crazy, the Rams only scored 20 points. The Cowboys lost the game by three. However, conditioning must be worked on in the week ahead to run with an even higher powered offense in the Falcons to compete and not risk falling to 0-2.

The Cowboys are going to be fine. Right? The 0-1 start doesn’t have anyone feeling warm and fuzzy right now. Luckily, the Eagles lost a division game to the Washington Football Team and that eases the blow just a little. There are a lot of people calling the NFC East a bad division. IT HAS BEEN ONE WEEK. Let’s pump the breaks on calling the season a lost one. There are questions and concerns, but all very very fixable as the Cowboys look to get back to .500 after Week 2.
