Calvin Ridley, Todd Gurley Carry The Atlanta Falcons’ Offense

With the Atlanta Falcons being without Julio Jones in this game, it was clear the offense needed some of its key players to elevate their contributions.

Two players that clearly answered this call included Calvin Ridley and Todd Gurley. It has become a real habit for Ridley to shoulder a heavy load for the Falcons’ offense so it was nothing new for him. He finished with eight catches for 136 yards.

It was truly a ‘turn-back-the-clock’ type of performance from Gurley. He received 14 carries and gained 121 yards and one touchdown while catching four passes for 29 yards— amounting to a total of 150 total yards from scrimmage.

There wasn’t a single pass-catching option for the Falcons that managed to reach 20 yards receiving. There just simply wasn’t enough support from the rest of the unit to compete for a win.
