Mitchell Trubisky Showed The Bears What They Needed To See
Coming into Week 1, there were a lot of questions about what to expect from Trubisky. Nick Foles was acquired in the offseason from the Jacksonville Jaguars and competed for the starting job in training camp. Trubisky won the job and put together a solid game against the Lions.
When everything was said and done, Trubisky completed 20 of his 36 pass attempts for 242 yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions. Those numbers aren’t amazing, but they were what the Bears needed to see.
Trubisky will keep his starting job heading into Week 2. Foles is still waiting for the moment that the young quarterback struggles.
There is a lot of pressure on Trubisky’s shoulders, but he appears ready for it. He needs to clean up his completion percentage, but the game as a whole was a major positive.
