3. Watch Out for the Browns’ Backfield Duo
There was plenty of talk about the Browns having one of the NFL’s best backfield duos leading up to the season. With Nick Chubb setting the tone and having Kareem Hunt forming a true one-two punch, the Bengals’ defense had no answer.
There isn’t much that can be done to slow down Chubb when he gets the ball on a handoff. He rushed 22 times and finished with 124 rushing yards and 2 touchdown runs. The Bengals’ defensive front simply had no answer for him…and either for Cleveland’s other running back.
Meanwhile, Hunt managed to average an outstanding 8.6 yards per carry on his 10 attempts for 86 total rushing yards. and chipped in a rushing score to go along with it. He also provided 2 catches for 15 yards and a touchdown catch.
Having a running back tandem that finishes with 234 all-purpose yards and 4 combined touchdowns in a given outing is spectacular. The next step for the Browns will be for the passing game to continue to build momentum to formulate a consistent all-around attack.
