3. Alshon Jeffery is Missed

While the attention has been on the awful play of Carson Wentz, a huge reason for his issues has been the play of his wide receivers. Alshon Jeffery has not suited up for the Philadelphia Eagles this season and it’s showing, not just in their record, but their approach.

Last season, the Eagles made the playoffs with no receiver gaining more than 500 yards. This year, with a healthy DeSean Jackson, a speedster in rookie Jalen Reagor and the emergence of Greg Ward, the Eagles’ core was supposed to be much improved. And yet, here they are searching for a savior.

Jeffery must take the field quickly. Wentz does not have anyone outside of Zach Ertz and Dallas Goedert that he can trust. Even with speed on the outside, the offense has not taken the chances needed to keep defenses honest.

Jeffery is not fast but he knows how to move the chains. His presence on the opposite side of Jackson could open up the deep pass the Eagles desperately need.
