The Denver Broncos Were Led By A Strong Defense

Even though it’s only been five games into the season, the Denver Broncos have experienced no shortage of ups and downs on defense. Against the New England Patriots, their performance certainly was among the positives.

The Broncos forced three turnovers in addition to recording four sacks, and that proved to have a key influence on the outcome of this game. That was all in addition to containing the Patriots’ offense to just a total of 12 points despite Cam Newton being in the lineup.

It wasn’t since Week 1 that Denver managed to hold their opponent below 21 points. For reference, the Broncos held the Tennessee Titans to just 16 points in their season-opener and then allowed an average of 27.3 points over their next three matchups.

It’s going to be crucial for the Broncos to build on their strong defensive outing in Week 7 when they take on a high-octane Chiefs offense. If not, Denver’s offense will have a tough time competing.
