Rams’ Secondary Was Strong
As talented as the wide receivers are for the Dallas Cowboys, the secondary of the Rams was just as strong — even stronger — because they did a solid job against the receiving trio by keeping all of the big-three receivers out of the end zone in Week 1.
Dallas had just one receiver — Amari Cooper — with over 80 yards receiving as he totaled 10 receptions for 81 yards with a best reception of 14 yards in the loss. They also forced the Dallas receivers to play physical.
Not only did the Cowboys’ receivers having multiple offensive pass interference calls on them. In fact, other than Cooper, none of the Dallas receivers had 60 or more yards receiving.
When a secondary can force a slow start to that trio of receivers, they deserve high accolades and that is what they receive here because they earned their paycheck in this game.
