4. Turnovers Were Costly for Cowboys
When going up against an offense led by Russell Wilson, it’s crucial to make the most of each possession. Failing to take care of the football is too costly to overcome in most instances — as the Cowboys showed in this outing.
The only turnover the Seahawks had in this game occurred when Trevon Diggs punched the ball loose from DK Metcalf just before he crossed into the end-zone — resulting in a touchback. Aside from that lapse, Seattle was efficient and set the bar high.
The Cowboys were not quite as careful keeping their turnovers down as the Seahawks. Dak Prescott ended up throwing a pair of interceptions and also lost a fumble. To be fair, one of those picks was on the last play of the game, but the other two turnovers by Dallas led to two touchdowns for Seattle.
There’s not going to be sufficient support from the Cowboys’ defense for their offense to be turning it over so often. Seeking to cut down on giveaways isn’t asking for perfection and it would make plenty of difference in many head-to-head matchups.
