3. Cowboys Need to Clean Up Fumbles

The Cowboys managed to rally back late in the game despite being outscored 20-0 in the opening quarter. If they had a few extra opportunities to put up points, Dallas could have defeated the Falcons without needing to pull off a miraculous onside recovery.

While Dak Prescott didn’t end up throwing an interception in this game, the Cowboys still recorded three turnovers. Overall, Dallas fumbled the ball four times resulting in three takeaways for the Falcons in addition to a couple of failed attempts on 4th down conversion.

When considering the Falcons managed to score after each of the Cowboys’ turnovers, it’s vital the offense is more careful with the football. The mistakes Dallas made early required them to be nearly perfect down the stretch to barely pull off the win.

The goal obviously is to not have to rely on an improbable onside kick recovery in order to be in a position to win. The Cowboys need to take the momentum they established in the second half of this outing and use it to get off to a better start in Week 3.
