Too Little, Too Late From The Atlanta Falcons

After getting off to an 0-5 start to the season, the Atlanta Falcons have essentially already put an end to their chances of accomplishing much in 2020. They face a hole that will be tough to overcome even after getting a win against the Minnesota Vikings.

The Falcons’ offense put on an impressive display led by Matt Ryan and Julio Jones, but that’s come to be expected from them. Regardless, it was intriguing to see their superstar wideout make his return to the lineup and unlock the potential of the unit.

While the Falcons’ defense did come through by forcing turnovers against the Vikings, that unit has struggled this season. Atlanta has now allowed at least 23 points in each of their games in 2020— putting a major burden on the offense to put up huge numbers.

The bottom line is that unless the Falcons manage to go practically undefeated or lose just one game the rest of the way, they will have a very difficult time contending for a playoff spot this season.
