3. Jaguars’ Offense Has Real Potential
The Jaguars looked very efficient on offense once again this week. Rookie receiver Laviska Shenault was an X-Factor in many ways this week. Undrafted rookie free agent running back James Robinson is playing like he could be up for the NFL’s Offensive Rookie of the Year, too.
DJ Chark is a very young wide receiver capable of stretching defenses and making big plays. Gardner Minshew is a legit QB the Jaguars can build around. Point is, this offense is very young and they have loads of potential.
Many thought the Jaguars ‘offense would fall apart this year. Thoughts of Trevor Lawrence in Jacksonville were floating around many early mock drafts. However, in the first two weeks of the season, this offense looks very good.
The Jaguars beat a very good Colts team in Week 1 and almost did the same against the Titans, who made an AFC Championship Game appearance less than a year ago. Tanking isn’t an option for Jacksonville this year. If this offense keeps playing like they are, they may even be looking for a Wild Card birth.
One issue that is still a bit of a concern is the Jaguars’ slow starts. They are a young team, so that isn’t surprising. However, Jacksonville’s coaching staff must work on starting off strong. These slow starts could come back to haunt them, particularly if making a playoff run is the goal.
