The Indianapolis Colts came into their Week 3 matchup against the New York Jets as major favorites. Not only did they live up to the expectations, they exceeded them. They ended up winning this game by a final score of 36-7.
From start to finish, the Colts dominated on both sides of the football. On the first drive of the game, Sam Darnold threw an interception to veteran cornerback Xavier Rhodes, who then returned it for 44 yards and a touchdown.
Philip Rivers and the Colts’ offense looked good, but they didn’t have to do much with how good their defense was. He completed 17 of his 21 pass attempts for 217 yards, one touchdown, and no interceptions. Jonathan Taylor had another good game in his second NFL start with 59 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries.
On the other side of the ball, Darnold struggled all game long, completing 17 of his 29 passes for 168 yards, one touchdown, and three interceptions. Frank Gore picked up 57 yards on 15 carries. Nothing looked good for the Jets on offense.
All of that being said, let’s take a look at four major takeaways from the Jets vs. Colts game in Week 3.
