4 major takeaways from the Lions vs. Cardinals matchup in Week 3

The Detroit Lions and Arizona Cardinals faced off during Week 3 of the 2020 NFL season. It was a tightly contested matchup but it was the Lions that came out on top with 26-23 being the final score.

It appeared as though the Cardinals could have taken control of the game early on after their 7-3 lead, but they failed to build on it. The Lions used a 14-6 advantage in the second period to take a 17-13 lead at halftime. While that wasn’t a substantial edge for Detroit, it proved to be important.

The Cardinals put up some fight in the third quarter by getting a game-high 10 points on the board compared to just a field by the Lions. Entering the final period, Arizona was up 23-20, but failed to score any additional points while the Lions added six of their own.

It has been a successful start to the season for the Cardinals as they hold a 2-1 record. Arizona will look to bounce-back with consecutive matchups against bad teams — including the Panthers and Jets. Meanwhile, the Lions will look to get to .500 after they take on the Saints in Week 4.

With that being said, let’s take a look at four major takeaways from the Detroit Lions vs. Arizona Cardinals matchup in Week 3 of the 2020 NFL season.
