Aaron Rodgers Might Just Be An MVP Candidate
Finally, the Packers were also wondering what version of Rodgers they were going to see this week. After an offseason that saw the franchise trade up in the first round of the NFL Draft to select Utah State quarterback Jordan Love, Rodgers came out looking to prove a point.
We have already mentioned his stat line in this article, but it is worth stating again. He completed 32 of his 44 passes for 364 yards, four touchdowns, and no interceptions.
Some called Rodgers “washed up” and “no longer elite” following the 2019 season. His Week 1 performance was a huge “shut up” message to all of those critics. Rodgers is still elite and he might just be an MVP candidate.
If the Packers continue seeing this version of Rodgers, a Super Bowl run could very well be in their future. He will need to continue proving it all season long, but that is something that he has thrived on throughout his career.
