4. Panthers’ Weapons Thrived

The Panthers made it a real effort to improve on offense in the offseason. This process began with the signing of Robby Anderson in order to provide a deep-threat to stretch the defense. The hirings of head coach Matt Rhule and offensive coordinator Joe Brady only added to those efforts.

Now, the Panthers have a solid level of talent around the quarterback position and have talented offensive minds coaching the team.

It’s very rare that Christian McCaffrey fails to provide a dynamic performance for the Panthers. While he didn’t post career-high totals in key areas, he still finished with 18 carries, 59 rushing yards, and a pair of touchdown runs — along with 29 receiving yards.

Meanwhile, DJ Moore (120) and Robby Anderson (109) combined for 229 receiving yards and Mike Davis chipped in 74 yards of his own. It’s safe to say, the Panthers’ offense received enough impact from their pass catchers for the team to have been competitive.

With the way the Panthers’ offense is trending, it seems the quarterback and the offensive line will end up being what holds the unit back more often than not. There is enough talent at Carolina’s skills positions to have a successful overall unit.
