2. Panthers’ Ceiling Limited by Bridgewater
It’s going to be tough for the Panthers to come out on top in many of their matchups this season, particular against NFC South rivals. A critical reason for that is their inability to produce enough on offense.
Failing to even put a single point on the board during the first half was simply inexcusable for the Panthers. It didn’t help that Teddy Bridgewater threw a pick in the opening quarter, was strip-sacked, and often failed to execute on key conversions.
Recording four turnovers proved to be way too costly for the Panthers to overcome, too. It’s especially concerning when factoring in that Teddy Bridgewater was directly responsible for three of these turnovers — two being interceptions and one fumble.
The return is very early, but the Panthers appear foolish to have moved on from Cam Newton in favor of signing Bridgewater in free agency. A lot can change as the season progresses and so far, Carolina appears set to regret their decision with a limited offensive ceiling.
