Raiders Achieved A Needed Victory

After starting the season with a pair of victories over NFC South teams, the Raiders dropped two consecutive games against AFC contenders between the New England Patriots and Buffalo Bills.

Getting a win in Week 5 was never going to come easy, but it was a potentially necessary feat considering the circumstances. Losing against the Chiefs would have raised no shortage of questions about the Raiders’ ability to defeat the AFC’s top teams in head-to-head matchups.

Coming up short and losing a third consecutive game would have set the Raiders back to 2-3 with three straight tough opponents on the upcoming schedule. Now, Las Vegas is building momentum with the goal of earning a playoff spot.

On top of all that, there may not be a greater momentum boost than getting a win against the reigning Super Bowl champions who happens to be a division rival.
