4. Welcome Back Miles Sanders
Last week against the Washington Football Team, the Eagles were not able to get any type of ground game going. Philadelphia was without standout running back Miles Sanders in that outing, which truly put his impact into perspective.
After coming off a week where they gained just 57 yards on 17 carries, the Eagles used the return of Sanders (95 yards) to make a point. With the speedy RB back in the lineup, the Eagles were able to rush for 121 yards on 26 carries against a vaunted Rams’ defense.
Sanders’ return was huge for a few reasons. The offensive line held up against the beefy Rams’ front seven and provides enough space to be successful. The Eagles were able to put together good drives. While not reaching the endzone each time, it gave their defense enough time to gather their wind on the sidelines, unlike last week.
If Sanders can continue the type of success he had against the Rams going forward this season, the Eagles will get into the win column soon enough.
