Philadelphia Eagles Made A Respectable Comeback Effort
Entering the fourth quarter of this game, the Philadelphia Eagles faced a daunting 24-6 disadvantage on the scoreboard. It was going to take a massive effort to make the game respectable again to which they did.
One pivotal sequence that proved to be too much to overcome occurred late in the fourth quarter. On 4th & 5 from their own 30-yard line, Wentz threw an incomplete pass. The Ravens then capitalized by converting on a field goal attempt— setting up a 30-14 lead.
Despite that late swing on the scoreboard, the Eagles still had a chance to win. Philadelphia scored a touchdown on each of their final two possession. Facing a 30-28 deficit with 1:55 left to play, they went for the two-point conversion but came up empty.
Being held scoreless during the opening half was simply too much to overcome for the Eagles. That lack of execution led to Philadelphia needing to be almost perfect the rest of the way to pull of the win.
