1. Raiders Could Earn a Wild Card Spot

The AFC West title is almost surely going to belong to the Chiefs once again, meaning the rest of the division is mostly just playing for the No. 2 spot in the standings. The Raiders could very well end up taking that spot after holding a 2-0 record through the inital two weeks of the season.

The Broncos have gotten off to an 0-2 start to the season and have been absolutely hammered with injuries to key players. They are in a very vulnerable position and could end up digging themselves into a deep hole while Drew Lock is sidelined over the next few weeks.

It won’t be easy to outcompete the Chargers when considering how impressive of a defense they have put together. The potential of their overall team was on full display against the Chiefs in Week 3.

With the NFL extending the playoff bracket to include seven teams from both conferences, it’s difficult to envision the Raiders not making it if they finish No. 2 in the AFC West standings. There is a legitimate pathway for Las Vegas to get it done.
