4 major takeaways from the Jaguars vs. Texans matchup in Week 5

The Jacksonville Jaguars and Houston Texans squared off in an AFC South matchup that featured two teams in desperate need of a win.

Neither team managed to get on the scoreboard in the opening period, but the Texans outscored the Jaguars 10-7 in the second quarter.

The third quarter was another tough frame for both teams on offense. The Jaguars were held scoreless while the Texans added a field goal— making the score 13-7 entering the fourth quarter.

In clutch time, the Texans used big plays on both sides of the ball to pull away from the Jaguars. For reference, Houston added 17 points to the board and pulled off a 30-14 win.

The Texans avoided a potential 0-5 start to the season and will take on the Tennessee Titans next— assuming there are no delays. Meanwhile, the Jaguars also hold a 1-4 record and will face the Detroit Lions in Week 6.

With that being said, let’s take a look at four major takeaways from the Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Houston Texans matchup in Week 5 of the 2020 NFL season.
