Brandin Cooks Had A Massive Bounce-Back
There may not have been a member of the Houston Texans’ offense that needed a big performance in Week 5 more than Brandin Cooks.
Cooks was coming off a highly disappointing outing in Week 4 that featured him going without a single catch on three targets against the Minnesota Vikings. In the week prior, the Pittsburgh Steelers held him to three catches for 23 yards.
Instead of having a third consecutive underwhelming outing, Cooks turned things around, and did so in a major way. Deshaun Watson threw to Cooks 12 times and the result was eight catches, 161 yards, and one touchdown.
It’s crucial that Watson and Cooks manage to build on the connection they had in Week 5 against the Jaguars. If that were to happen, Cooks could open up the rest of the offense with his big play ability and field-stretching capabilities.
