Justin Herbert Is Showing Off Impressive Potential

When the NFL season began, it appeared unclear if Justin Herbert would get much of a chance to play this season.

That all changed after Tyrod Taylor suffered a punctured lung due to the team doctor trying to administer a pain-killing injection. Since that point, Herbert has been highly impressive and his performance against the New Orleans Saints is the latest example.

Against the Saints, Herbert completed 20-of-34 (58.8%) pass attempts for 264 yards, and four touchdowns. While his completion rate was a season-low, he made big plays when it mattered most.

It’s clear that Herbert is the future of the quarterback position for the Chargers. He was initially thrown into the fire against the reigning Super Bowl champions and answered the call. He has remained effective ever since.
