The Miami Dolphins and San Francisco 49ers faced off during the NFL’s Week 5 slate of action.
To begin the game, the Dolphins got off to a hot start and never looked back. Miami held a 14-0 lead at the end of the first quarter and that ended up growing to be a 30-7 advantage at halftime. At this point, Jimmy Garoppolo was sidelined and the outcome was all but locked in.
The 49ers began to trend closer to the right direction by putting up 10 points in the third quarter. However, the Dolphins outscored San Francisco 13-10 in the second half— preventing any hope of a possible comeback.
While many experts anticipated a 49ers victory, it was the Dolphins that managed to come out on top. Miami did so in convincing fashion no less with 43-17 being the final score.
Both the 49ers and Dolphins now hold a 2-3 record entering Week 6. Next up on the schedule for Miami is a matchup with the Jets while San Francisco will take on the Rams.
With that being said, let’s take a look at four major takeaways from the Miami Dolphins vs. San Francisco 49ers matchup in Week 5 of the 2020 NFL season.
